Rodial’s Dragon’s Blood range is one of the label’s best-known lines, and one of the easiest to get lost in. There is a water serum, a sculpting gel, two creams, a micellar water, eye products, masks and an SPF moisturiser, all in the same coral red packaging. This guide explains what each one is for, how Rodial suggests using them and how they could fit into a simple morning and evening routine.
All prices are in pounds from the Rodial site as of 26 October 2026 and can change. Claims are Rodial’s own, not independent findings.

What Is Dragon’s Blood in Skincare?
Rodial describes Dragon’s Blood as an ingredient taken from the sap of the Croton Lechleri tree, used in traditional medicine. In its products, the brand says it helps soothe, comfort and hold moisture at the skin’s surface, which is why the range leans towards hydration and calming rather than strong exfoliation. Rodial pairs it with other ingredients in each product, so the benefits differ by item.

Whenever you see a was price in the table, it is the pre-reduction figure Rodial shows on the product page at the time of checking.
Water Serum: The Hydration Step
The Water Serum is the lightest product in the line. Rodial describes it as a weightless serum that replenishes dehydrated skin and helps calm visible redness. It names polyglutamic acid to hold moisture at the surface, ectoin to support the moisture barrier and Rubixyl to target the look of wrinkle depth. For the instructions, apply one or two pumps to clean skin, use it morning and evening, and follow with your moisturiser. Rodial quotes an in vivo study of 21 participants for the Rubixyl ingredient, with a 20 percent reduction in wrinkle depth after four weeks. That figure is the ingredient maker’s data, as presented by the brand.

Sculpting Gel and Velvet Cream: Firming or Comfort?
The Sculpting Gel is the one Rodial calls its bestseller. It combines Dragon’s Blood with Collageneer, Volufiline and Commipheroline for a lifted, firmer-looking complexion. Rodial cites a clinical evaluation of 25 volunteers over 89 days for the Collageneer ingredient, in which 92 percent said their skin felt firmer. Use it morning and evening as a serum or as your moisturiser step.
The Velvet Cream is the more comforting option. It is described as a nourishing daily moisturiser that restores softness and radiance, and is aimed at skin that needs lasting nourishment. If you want firmness, look at the gel; if you want a plain, indulgent moisturiser, the cream is the more natural choice.

Night Cream: The Retinol Step
The Hyaluronic Night Cream is the only product here built around retinol. Rodial says its slow-release retinol is delivered gradually through the night, to smooth fine lines while limiting irritation, and that Chromabright helps even the look of tone. Use it in the evening after your serums and apply SPF the next morning. Rodial states plainly that it is not for daytime use. If you are new to retinol or have sensitive skin, speak to a professional before adding it to your routine.

Cleansing and Sun Protection
The Micellar Cleansing Water is a no-rinse makeup remover that leaves skin feeling hydrated. For daytime protection, the Hyaluronic Moisturiser SPF15 combines hyaluronic acid and niacinamide with squalane. SPF15 is a modest level of protection, so decide whether it is enough for your day or whether you want to add a higher-factor product.

Eye Gel and Masks: The Extras
If you want to go beyond the core steps, the Eye Gel at GBP 79 is described as a cooling treatment that soothes and replenishes hydration and helps reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles. The Hyaluronic Face Mask, listed at GBP 55, is a lightweight cooling gel for an instant hydration boost on dry, dehydrated skin. Both are optional extras rather than essentials, and they make more sense once you know the serum and moisturiser steps suit your skin.
Who Each Product Suits
Rodial’s own copy gives a short guide for each item. The Water Serum is aimed at anyone wanting high-performance hydration, the Sculpting Gel at people looking to restore firmness and lift, and the Night Cream at dry, dehydrated skin that wants overnight nourishment. The Eye Gel is for dehydrated, tired-looking eyes.
A Simple Morning and Evening Routine
- Morning: cleanse, apply the Water Serum, then the Velvet Cream or the SPF15 moisturiser.
- Evening: remove makeup with the Micellar Water, apply the Water Serum, add the Sculpting Gel if you want firming, then finish with the Night Cream.
- On a budget: start with the Micellar Water at GBP 45 and one moisturiser, and add a serum later.
This is a suggested routine based on the usage notes on each product page, not a prescription. Patch test anything new, and stop use if your skin reacts.
Is It Worth the Price?
These are premium prices, with the Water Serum at GBP 130 and the Sculpting Gel at GBP 105. The more modest entry points are the Micellar Water at GBP 45 and the SPF15 moisturiser at GBP 42. Rodial also sells smaller sizes of several items, which can be a way to test before committing to a full size. Check the product pages for the minis available at the moment.
When you are ready, head to the Dragon’s Blood collection to compare sizes and read the reviews. If you have a gift in mind, Rodial also sells skincare kits and sets that bundle products together.
